Canterbury hooker Michael Lichaa has been hit with a dangerous throw charge by the NRL match review committee, but can escape a ban with an early guilty plea.

Lichaa was charged on Tuesday with a grade one offence for his tackle on Chris Heighington in the Bulldogs' 20-18 loss to Cronulla on Monday night.

If the chunky rake takes the early guilty plea, he will earn 93 demerit points and still be free to play in the Dogs' round 14 match against St George Illawarra on Monday.
